Vice President – Acquisitions & Asset Management
Ryan Lawless founded Renegade in 2021 with the singular focus to create a best-in-class private equity firm to acquire and develop commercial real estate. In his role as Chief Executive Officer, Ryan directly oversees acquisitions, equity relationships, and governs the overall strategic direction of the company. Ryan’s vision and leadership drives Renegade’s success and emergence as one of the fastest growing real estate firms in Colorado.
A truly entrepreneurial story, Ryan’s real estate career started in 2011 with a single transaction totaling $35,000. The initial thesis focused on acquiring distressed properties throughout Denver’s urban neighborhoods. Residential quickly transitioned to commercial where, over 7 years and under various entities and partnerships, Ryan went on to acquire over $100 million of apartments throughout the country. In 2021, Ryan expanded into development with Frameline, a 78-unit five-story podium project in Denver’s highly sought-after 9th & Co neighborhood.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Ryan’s passion for real estate was developed through a college mentorship with a prominent investor largely responsible for reshaping two coastal NJ cities in Asbury Park and Atlantic City. Ryan graduated from Monmouth University’s Leon Hess Business School where he earned a BA in Real Estate and founded the Men’s Club Lacrosse Team, now a Division I team and member of the MAAC Conference. Prior to his career in real estate, Ryan spent over 7 years in the music industry where he had an opportunity to live and travel across the United States. Ryan currently serves on the Associate Board of ACE Scholarships, a non-profit that provides better educational opportunities for underprivileged youth throughout the US. An avid hockey fan, Ryan lives in Littleton, Colorado with his wife and three children.
